Behind omniac is Schwarz Digits, the IT and digital division of Schwarz Group – one of the largest and most successful ecosystems in Europe (best known for Lidl and Kaufland).

Through its strong brands and partnerships, Schwarz Digits is actively working to shape a digitally sovereign future for Europe.

Omniac is part of the Schwarz Digits cyber security product portfolio and provides a digital early warning system to protect private and business customers alike.

The Idea and Motivation behind omniac

The theft of personal access credentials and identities has become one of the biggest threats of the digital era. Whether passwords, bank details or ID information, if personal data ends up in the hands of criminals due to IT glitches or cyber attacks, the financial and personal consequences can be felt for years afterwards.

In response to this threat, the Institutes, Accelerators & Security unit of Schwarz Digits made a clear commitment at the end of 2023: cyber security must not just be a privilege for large corporations; instead, proactive steps must be taken to ensure it is easily available to every individual and every company.

The omniac app was developed entirely in-house.

Collective Expertise and Development from a Single Source

The starting gun for the development of omniac was fired in early 2024. The IT and cyber security experts at Schwarz Group – including specialists from Schwarz Digits, Kaufland and Lidl – deployed their in-depth experience and knowledge to create an effective solution for protecting digital identities.

The omniac app was designed, developed and built fully in-house by a specialist development team. From the very first day, they were guided by the principle of Security by Design: that means that the highest standards of security and data protection have not just been incorporated as an afterthought, but integrated directly into the foundations of the software from the very first line of code.

Start of Development
The development of the omniac app begins.
October 2024
Launch of Cyber Security in the Kaufland App
In parallel to the development of omniac, the project team integrated the free cyber security feature into the Kaufland app.
March 2025
Launch of the omniac App
The omniac app is officially launched in Germany at the Schwarz Cybersecurity Conference on 13 March 2025.
August 2025
Start of International Expansion
The omniac app goes international: first expansion into eight European countries: Austria, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Ireland and Poland.
October 2025
Launch of omniac Business
Official launch of omniac Business for protecting companies, employees and customers at it-sa Expo & Congress.
December 2025
Expansion to Western and Eastern Europe
The app launches in Portugal, Belgium, Czechia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Romania.
January 2026
Omniac Business API Goes Live
The Account Takeover Protection (ATO) API for automatically monitoring the digital identities of employees and customers goes live.
March 2026
Expansion into the Baltic Region and Scandinavia
The app launches in seven Northern and Eastern European countries: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
June 2026
Launch in Singapore and the omniac Business Platform Goes Live
Omniac app: first market outside of Europe with the launch in Singapore. The omniac app is now protecting users in 23 countries and 19 languages worldwide.
Omniac Business: External Attack Surface Management (EASM) is launched to provide across-the-board monitoring for companies’ digital attack vectors (omniac Business Platform).

We fully comply with the requirements of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and cannot access any data that you enter or transmit.

We hash, mask, and encrypt your data in the omniac app during transfer and storage. We develop and host on the secure STACKIT Cloud in Germany.

Omniac is certified according to the stringent international PCI DSS standard, thereby complying with the security requirements of the PCI Security Standards Council and demonstrating this compliance on an annual basis (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard).
